Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
 

The Word Processor is responsible for the production of documents from stored forms and marked hardcopy. Trained in the use of all word processing software used within the Firm, the Word Processor is a skilled and accurate typist with excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and formatting. This position reports to the Supervisor, Evening Word Processing.


Main Duties:

Utilizing the Firm’s word processing software, the Word Processor types first drafts and revisions of various types of documents, in addition to transcribing dictation tapes; the candidate who is awarded this position will soon become familiar with Firm brochures, forms, document formats, and printing requirements. Duties also include reviewing completed and assigned documents to check for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. Additional projects may be assigned on an as-needed basis.


 

Qualifications:
 

Applicants must have strong skills in a variety of software programs including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Candidates must understand various areas of practice within corporate and litigation, in addition to what formats and forms are appropriate for each. The Word Processor must have the physical mobility required to operate and move computers and equipment, and the ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.

 

Candidates must be able to communicate clearly – both orally and in writing, and read and analyze technical and managerial documents and other data. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be willing to assist and will have a positive, “can-do” attitude; they must also be able to work in both an independent and team environment. 

We are currently recruiting for 1 or 2 part-time Word Processing Operators for the evening shift(s), between Monday to Thursday.  The evening shift would start at 6-7pm and end at midnight.  Please note that this position(s) is a term position expected to last 12-14 months.
